    BLAH!!

I really don't have much of anything to say today. Even the drivers were nice this morning. So rather than just stop writing, I'll start a story. If you like it, leave a comment, if you don't do the same. Either way I may continue writing it or I may just stop. Because of the way I write you'll only get a little bit every time I write. So here the story starts:

    [Untitled]

The man stepped through as the mists parted. He was dressed head to toe in black. He took a few steps into this strange world, he had somebody to find.
He looked up at the sky. The thick cloud cover was a relief. It reduced the searing pain that the sun caused, even still he could feel the heat trying to burn him to a cinder. The sooner he found her the sooner he could retreat to the depths of the underground dwellings that he was used to.
He decided that the best place to start was to open up his mind and search for her energy signature. He was immediately overwhelmed. The sheer number of people was overpowering.
Changing his mind, he decided that he would need to seek shelter first. The search would take some time, and he needed to get out of the burning rays of the sun.
He changed his search strategy. Instead of searching the energies of the living he searched for the energies of the dead. He found a cluster of lost souls only about five miles from his location. He headed toward the wailing of the dead.

    ***

The man in black reached the graveyard. He saw immediately what he was looking for, an above-ground family crypt. He made his way inside, and free from the burning of the sun he was able to start his search again.
He started by first fitering out any male energies. Then he filtered out the energies of any females younger than twenty years. He was sorely disappointed with the second tactic. It seemed tha females lived much longer in this world than the one that he was used to.
He decided that it would take longer than he had originally thought to find her. He was also tired after the crossing, and te burning of the sun. He found a dark corner of the crypt and fell into sleep.

    ***

Many days had passed since the man in black had entered this world. Many days he had narrowed his search for her energy. Now he thought that he had found her.
He stood up, muscles complaining from the work after many days. He would now have to leave the safety of this place and search for the one that could turn the tide of the war.
Her location was many miles from here. Even travelling at top speed it would take many days to reach her.
A woman screamed as he left the crypt. He didn't care. The sun was searing again, and he had a job to do. No, he didn't care about scaring one mortal at all.

    More bad weather

Yes, it's true. Yet more bad weather in the city different. And what does bad weather do better than anything else? It brings out the bad drivers. Granted, the drivers out here are usually horrible on good days, so if you weren't from here you probably wouldn't notice a difference.

Ok, before we get too far into this and somebody starts to think that I believe that I am god's gift to drivers, stop. If I had to rate my own driving I would probably give myself a C, maybe a C+ on good days. I get distracted and speed, and no matter how hard I try I can't drive the way that I would like all of the time. So when I rant about bad drivers keep in mind that I also realize that we are all human. I rant about drivers who have a blatant disregard for other drivers or the law.

I got stuck behind a bus for a short while this morning. It had turned onto the road in front of me, but it needed to get over one more lane because the lane that I was in turned into a turn only lane. Almost as soon as it was facing straight the bus turned on its left turn blinker to get over into the next lane. It had plenty of room, and had started to move over when a pickup truck suddenly moved into the lane. Now the pickup was not behind a slow driver, and in fact had plenty of room in front of it. The truck also did not get in front of me to turn, also once the bus had slowed down to get in behind the truck the truck moved back into it's still free original lane. Now why did the pickup truck do something like that? Probably just for kicks, or to see if they could make the bus crash into them for insurance money.

Anybody reading this may start to think that I am being a little harsh. But I see stunts like this every day. People purposely hindering other drivers, just to satisfy their own twisted needs for control.

One of the worst scenarios of this need for road control is the case where a driver created a multi-mile backup on a major highway.

This was probably close to a year ago. I was driving southbound on I-25, when I got stuck behind a (surprise, surprise) pickup truck. They were travelling below the speed limit, and hanging out in the fast lane, but as we were still passing even slower drivers I didn't think much of it. Then a place opened up in the slow lane, I waited for them to move over. When they didn't move over, I finally tried to pass them in the slow lane. That is when they sped up, assuming that they were what I have dubbed a thou shalt not pass I moved back in behind them, since I really don't mind being behind somebody as long as they aren't slowing me down.

They stayed at a decent speed for a few miles , then they got beside a slow moving gravel hauler just south of albuquerque, which is always a busy stretch of highway. They also timed their maneuver so that they had already passed the last available exit that connected to any usable backroads.

The truck matched speed with the gravel hauler for a number of miles, the speed being approximately 50 mph on a 75 mph highway. From my mirrors I couldn't even see the end of the line that had formed behind me. Now even the gravel hauler had seen what was happening, and was trying to alleviate to problem. He would slow down to allow the pickup in front of him, or so that maybe somebody would be able to get around, and the pickup would slow down. Or he would speed up as much as he could and the truck would match the speed.

This nonsense continued for about ten miles, with the cars piling up behind every second that it continued. Finally, just before another exit appeared the truck sped off with the occupants laughing, since I was still right behind them I did see that they were laughing. Never before or since have I wanted a CB radio so badly. Many state police had been going the other way and I had a clear view of the license plate number, and a multi-mile backup surely must be condidered impeding traffic.

Once they sped up I lost track of the truck. My exit was only a few miles farther down the road so I have no idea if they tried that again that day, where there were more long stretches of highway with no escape.

Unfortunately people like this are all too common on our roads. Road games and rudeness are dangerous, I have no idea if there were any accidents due to the backup, but there easily could have been. Usually the games that I see aren't as far reaching, usually only one car is affected, but easily a very dangerous situation all the same.

So for now there is a rant about bad drivers. I really don't know what to do about them, but I think about it sometimes. I think the only thing that we can do is prevent them, and that is a problem in itself.

Can't think of anything else to say today.

    more snow

so on the way in to work this morning I decided that maybe instead of just news about me I would complain about whatever I feel like complaining about that day.

So originally I was going to complain about bad drivers, but as I sit here watching it snow I have decided to complain about the weather instead. I had heard that the tsunami was going to affect the climate of the world, but who knows if that is really the cause of all the crazy weather or if the weather was going to get wierd anyway. I think that it was getting wierd anyway, what with all of the hurricanes and other strange weather last year, even before the tsunami.

Geez, now it's hailing. Little tiny hail, but hail nonetheless... And now... it's snowing again, all within about 3 minutes. See what I men about crazy weather.

Anyhow, I can't complain s much as I would like. I do remember the '80's when snow this late was a normal occurrence, but usually not immediately following a near 70° day. That is where the wierdness comes in. If the weather would choose one or the other it would be better, beautiful or nasty, but not both. Hey the sun just came out, but it is still snowing. ha ha.

Onto something other than the weather. Work is normal, which is to say boring. I keep encountering problems when trying to copy my VHS tapes to dvd, it's not as if I'm planning to sell them or anything else. I am making backup copies of tapes that I purchased for my own personal use, namely to avoid taking a VCR when I go back down to school. Also some of my tapes are old and nearly impossible to find if they wear out, so I needed a copy for those circumstances.

Anyway I still have some more tricks to try to record these tapes. But really, how much money did they pump into VHS tapes to prevent recording them onto another medium lately when DVD's are the new mass media medium. I just think that they wasted a lot of money on nothing, granted the money was spent some time ago as some of the movies that I was working with were old, but people who really want to get around the protection probably can. Also I believe that it is wrong to make people pay for the same rights over and over. If you buy it once, you should be able to transfer the rights to another medium as long as it is not distributed.

Oh, well. We all know that as long as there is money to be made the industries will do everything that they can to prevent us from keeping our rights.

Well, I'm starting to rant. So maybe I'll save this for another day, see if I can figure out a way to record my movies to dvd.

    Bye

    hmmm

Maybe I should have titled this blog whenever ramblings instead of daily. I know that I am no good about keeping up with something like this. Oh well, too late for now.

Not much been happening this week. Slow at work, and dancing was cancelled on mon night due to a refinishing of the floors.

The most exciting thing of this whole week is the gas prices going up again. If it keeps up like this I swear that eventually I won't be able to afford to go to work.

Oh well , nothing else for now.

    rambling

So I made it down the driveway on fri night after all. the mud was slick, but not so deep as to cause other problems. the bad news of friday's diving is that the new battery ended up costing me $100, ouch.

so that brings me to yesterday. Went to work at the other job in abq. We were 2 1/2 people short, which made for a very hard day. Oh before you ask the half person comes from a person being 1/2 day late. Either way it was very hard to run a whole store with only 2-3 people on the floor at any one time. Granted, it can be done on some nights when it is real slow, but not on a busy saturday.

So after I left work I headed for Mike and Richards dance party. It was nice to be able to dance again after I hadn't been able to on mon night, but I was so tired after the rough day at work that i only stayed for a little while and then left.

On the way home from the party I decided to stop at wally world and buy some new shoes to replace the worn out ones that I have, and to get some recordable dvd's. The shoes look good, unfortunately I got the wrong format dvd's. I didn't realize that they were the wrong format until I opened them up and couldn't burn on them though. So for now I am stuck with dvd's that I cannot use.

That brings us to today. So far it looks like I will be going into town later to help return the borrowed truck, maybe I can get the right dvd's then. Sunday is usually my laundry day, so that will be happeningand beyond that I just don't know.

    Bye.

    mobile

Yes, I am independently mobile again, or at least my car is both out of the mud and the snow. Unfortunately, the battery in my car is dead, but that is not as bad as it could have been. Also, until the mud dries and we can level it some I will also have to walk 1/4 mile to and from my car, because the ruts right now are so deep I would scrape bottom most of the way, if I didn't get stuck again.

This creates another issue, parking. The driveway is too muddy to pass, so The logical option is to park right at the entrance to the drive, but the entrance is really narrow and the one other person who lives down near us and uses the same drive has a very wide vehicle, plus we already have my mother's car parked down in the entrance. So that leaves the road. I think that it will be possible for me to park in the road, I have noticed others doing the same because of the conditions, and it seems that drivers are on the lookout for parked cars. Luckily the road has dried and defrosted enough that I think my car won't be hit because of bad conditions.

Other than the weather life is pretty boring right now. Work is slow, i continue to work on the data enrty projects that I have, but they are almost completed. I keep meaning to buy a new computer game, but until I can drive up to the house I really don't want to, just because that would mean carrying one more thing, and even though games are light, the mud is slick and if I slipped and fell that would be one more thing to get muddy and wet.

Well, nothing else to say right now.

    mudhole

yes, that is where i am living now. In the middle of a mudhole. The snow has started to melt, but there is noplace for the water to go.

I dug my car out this morning, that was a workout. It still won't start, but we think that the battery is almost dead. No matter what the problem I need to pick my timing to move the car, if the mud is almost frozen it will be easier to get out than in the middle of the day.

work today was boring as normal. more data entry most of the day. I am almost out of data entry work, then it will be really boring there. I can only rearrange products so much.

Oh well, I guess that is why they don't mind me taking my laptop with me. It gives me something else to do when it is boring. Fat lot of good it does me this week though with the 1/4 mile trek to the car. Even the car I am borrowing cannot make it through the mud.

I should look at the bright side, however. The amnount of moisture that we have got this year should definitely help ease us out of the drought. I just wish that somebody would invent the rain/snow that goes where you want it and not where it will create problems. But I guess that we still have some time before the weather controlling systems will be created.

not much else to talk about right now, so I guess I'll stop.

    FREE!

ok not totally free, but better than the past two days. MY car is still stuck in three feet of snow, but I was able to ride in with my mother today and at least get to work. I hope that it is still light enough when I get home to get some of the snow out from around my car so that it can defrost tomorrow. it'll be a chore, but it needs to get done.

on to other news. I got to work this morning to find that the owners had moved a whole bunch of stuff around in my absence. some of the changes are good, others well... lets just say that they aren't terrible, but not to my liking.

I left my laptop at home today because of the deep snow that I had to walk through. Now I wish that I hadn't left it. I can't listen to what I would normally listen to at work, because the store computer doesn't have the same programs installed, and I don't want to install them on the work machine.

that's about all that I can think of to say right now. Maybe more later.

    still snowed in

    hello to whomever reads this,

I am still snowed in. The snow was even deeper today. I only ventured outside once today, and only to feed the chicken.

Faced with a day of total boredom, I did what any sane person would do. I played computer games all day. Unfortunately the best game I have right now is the Sims.

It looks like I will be stuck at home again tomorrow too. The weather forcast looks hopeful though, supposed to be sunny and warmer. Hopefully the snow will melt enough for me to get my car out.

anyway I don't have anything else to talk about right now.

    snowed in

So, i finally decided to start a blog. Now to see if I can stick with it.

So as to the title of today's post, I am snowed in. My dirveway is almost a quarter mile and my car is stuck, with snow in the engine compartment, almost at the end of it. On top of my car being stuck it is difficult for me to even move around outside as the snow is almost butt deep.

Lately I have been listening to rantradio a lot. it's kinda strange, I really seem to agree with most of those people. I think that my favorite shows are the ones that are done by sean kennedy. He is just obnoxious enough for me to be able to listen to and not get bored. I don't listen to the music sides right now, I guess that 70's music is just too ingrained into my system to enjoy industrial or punk for more than a few minutes.

so, back to the snow. two days ago it was 70 degrees, now the snow is almost 3 feet deep, talk about a change. I trudged through it so many times today that even though i took a hot bath and am wearing warm clothes, i am still shivering as I write this.

anyway, i still have another day of feeling like a bump on a log, because I am not going to work tomorrow, because the store is closed because of the weather.

anyway, might have more to say tomorrow, after my bones have defrosted.

    bye
